Yesterday morning, a fuel-laden truck collided and detonated at the Polo roundabout in Jos North LGA, Plateau State, resulting in the death of one person and the destruction of property, including automobiles, stores, and a veterinary school.
The corpse, believed to be the tanker’s driver, was recovered in a gutter close to the incident site.
DSP Alfred Alabo, the spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, acknowledged the event and stated that the command was investigating the cause.
Witnesses reported that the tanker burst into flames shortly after it crashed, and state fire service and police officials were dispatched to the scene.
The incident reportedly occurred at 5 a.m. on Thursday, when the truck drove recklessly into a gas station near a veterinary school.
