A hotelier, Mr. Olugbenga Owolabi, and a Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) student, Rachael Opadele, were all slaughtered by their kidnappers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Due to the ongoing statewide strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Opadele, who was working with the hotelier (Owolabi), was abducted on Friday in Ogbomoso.

Kidnappers are said to have executed the victims Tuesday night after receiving N5 million in ransom, according to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN).

When the ransom was delivered, a motorbike driver was also killed, according to a family member who requested anonymity. The ransom bearer, on the other hand was injured.

An unnamed hospital is currently caring for the ransom carrier after the abductees and motorcycle operator were shot dead in a fit of rage, according to the source.

On the Ogbomoso-Ilorin Expressway, near Igbon, the ransom was transported to the bush.

The kidnappers were enraged when they saw soldiers in the LAUTECH region, according to the source.

In response to an uptick in local kidnappings, the military raided Ogbomoso on Tuesday to step up security.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, promised to get back to NAN after being contacted.
