Gunmen opened fire on a mosque in Maisamari, Taraba State’s Sardauna Local Government Area, killing Alhaji Abdulkadir Maisamari, the district head.
Abdulkadir Maisamari was allegedly assassinated during Ishai prayers on Monday night, according to witnesses.
The shooters are said to have begun fire as soon as they entered the mosque.
