President Muhammadu Buhari has informed Igbo leaders that a court will decide Nnamdi Kanu’s fate as leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Buhari stated this while meeting with regional leaders at the New Government House in Abakaliki, the state capital.
During their first meeting on May 5, the leaders of the South-East pleaded with President Buhari to release Kanu and other Igbo youths detained across the nation.
Charles Mkpuma, head of the south-east traditional rulers, reiterated the request at the Friday meeting.
President Buhari emphasised, however, that it is crucial for the court to render a verdict in Kanu’s case.
