Mr Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation, has appealed to Nigerians to donate funds for the treatment of victims of the Kaduna-Abuja train incident.

The train assault would have been halted if the acquisition of the N3 billion high capacity rail track cameras and sensors had not been obstructed, according to Amaechi, who visited the scene of the incident on Tuesday March 29.

On Wednesday, March 30, while paying a visit to the wounded at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, Amaechi stated that the army is treating the injured without charging them.

Amaechi requested Nigerians to help raise the funds by pointing out that some of the patients require pharmaceuticals that are not manufactured in the nation.
