Sunday Adeyemo, a Yoruba activist, has urged for discussion, claiming that self-determination may be attained without killing.

Igboho revealed this in a statement by his lawyer Yomi Alliyu on March 10.

The quote reads: “He continues to preach against war, citing the situation in Ukraine and Igboland, Nigeria. He urged everyone, especially his relatives at home and abroad, to engage in discussion to achieve self-determination without further deteriorating the situation in Nigeria.

“He thinks, as he used to say at rallies, that their goal can be attained without a gun.”

His lawyer said he will not give up on self-determination and thanked everyone who helped him while inside.

Added the statement: “He thanked all those who helped him, especially his leaders, Baba Prof Akintoye and Baba Prof Wale Adeniran, and all Nigerians, especially those in Ilana Oodua demanding self-determination.

“Chief Dele Momodu was the only notable Yoruba to visit him in Cotonou jail. He is thankful to President Talon of Benin for freeing him from prison to be reunited with his immediate family, although temporarily in Cotonou.”
