Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwamanda, a well-known critic of Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has been remanded by a magistrate’s court in Kano’s Nomansland neighborhood.

He was remanded on three counts of attempted assassination of the Governor’s character.

According to Kwamanda, Ganduje bribed the Mai Mala Buni-led All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in order for his factional leader, Abdullahi Abbas, to receive the party’s certificate of return as Kano APC chairman.

After the defense counsels’ bail plea was denied, the magistrate, Aminu Magashi, ordered Kwamanda to be held in a correctional facility on Tuesday.

The defendant, on the other hand, has entered a not guilty plea.

The judge then adjourned the court’s session until March 15, 2022, and remanded the defendant until then.

Kwamanda, a vocal critic of Ganduje, has attacked the governor on most of his radio political shows.

He is not, however, the Governor’s first critic to be remanded.

Mu’az Magaji, another critic and former Ganduje Commissioner, was detained in a jail facility for a similar offense in January.
