A group of soldiers in the Plateau State community of Zurak Kampani, Wase Local Government Area, was Ambush by a group of Bandits
The bandits, according to the people who live there, showed up when people were at the market.
The Zurak Kampani community is more than 100 km away by car from the LGA’s main office.
Major Ishaku Takwa, the spokesman for Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a group of security forces working to keep the peace in the state, confirmed the ambush but said that no soldier was killed.
But Abdullahi Usman, a person who lives in Wase town, told our reporter that the bandits killed one soldier and hurt another.
He said that the attack was stopped by the soldiers who were stationed in the area.
Our reporter says that the day before the ambush, thieves broke into Pinau village in the same LGA and stole more than 500 cattle.
Recently, there have been robberies in Wase communities, which have forced many people to leave their homes.
