Bandits invaded the Kwari community in Jibia LGA, Katsina State, kidnapping numerous residents and injuring many others.
A resident of the area who requested anonymity stated that the attackers were seeking revenge for the arrest of their members by security authorities on Friday.
He stated, “My hometown, Farfaru, was set on fire today by the bandits. So many women and children have been abducted, and so much livestock has been stolen. This was due to the arrest of several bandits following Friday prayers.”
Another resident of Farfaru informed SHAUNTV that at least 30 residents, including women and children, were seized by terrorists who attacked at 3 p.m.
Later-arriving security personnel were able to drive the attackers from the area, he added.
SP Gambo Isah, spokesman for the Katsina State police, confirmed the event but did not provide further details.
