Terrorists on the loose exploded a bomb on the railtrack of an Abuja-Kaduna train, thereby immobilizing it.

On Monday night, credible sources verified the attack , stating it took place between Katari and Rijana.

According to one of the passengers who corroborated the attack, the terrorists have surrounded the train and are shooting intermittently.

The train has at least 970 passengers on board

On Monday, a train destined for Kaduna derailed after explosives suspected to have been put on the rail track detonated in the Katari area of the state.

The train left Idu Train Station in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at 6 p.m. and arrived at Rigasa Train Station in Kaduna around 30 minutes later.

At the time of writing, details were vague, but Shauntv learned that security agents had been dispatched to the region to rescue the passengers.

“There is no network in the area,” a top security source in Kaduna explained, “so we won’t be able to gather any information until the team we send returns.”
“What we know is that there are suspected IEDs on the track, and the train has derailed.” He replied, “We don’t know for sure if there is any injury or death.”

Mr. Fidet Okhiria, Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, confirmed the attack but did not elaborate.

According to one of the passengers on board the train that collided with explosives on its journey from Abuja to Kaduna, they are presently safe.

Terrorists surrounded the train, which left Abuja about 6 p.m. on Monday, according to the Daily Trust.

Anas Danmusa, a passenger who spoke about the incident, stated the attackers fired numerous firearms.

Passengers had to hide under the seats until security personnel arrived, according to Danmusa.
