A group of kidnappers has reportedly abducted 36 inhabitants of Kaduna State’s Keke B Community in Millennium City’s Chikun Local Government Area.

According to our source, the event occurred as many residents were winding down for the day on Monday.

A resident told our reporter that he saw the bandits scurrying from one house to the next, unimpeded.

“Many of us were still outside when the bandits attacked because it was very early, around 8.30pm,” says Muhammad Salihu, a local resident. They poured in, shooting randomly and flaunting guns.

One by one, they broke into people’s homes and kidnapped the residents. The kidnappers managed to free one of the occupants, a motorcycle technician, but they took 36 others hostage.

Security officials have not yet issued a statement on this matter. We tried calling Kaduna Police spokesman Mohammed Jalige, but his line was unreachable since it had been cut off.

Police are currently in the neighbourhood, according on the information we received from our source.

That same village was targeted a month before, with the kidnapping of seven residents including a man’s wife and their housemaids.
