Ado Mamman, a herdsman, was murdered by bandits in Pai village, Kwali Area Council, Abuja.
A Pai community resident identified only as Shehu stated that the incident occurred at 11:12 p.m. on Sunday.
He stated that robbers armed with sophisticated weaponry infiltrated the Fulani settlement as the inhabitants prepared to retire for the day.
According to him, the deceased herder was shot in the chest while attempting to protect his relative.
“The occasional gunfire drew the attention of the residents until this morning at 4:00 a.m., when it was revealed that bandits had murdered one of the herders and abducted another,” he claimed.
Maude Ado was recognised as the abducted herder.
Mohammed Usman, secretary of the Gwagwalada Area Council Branch of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), verified the murder and kidnapping of a herder in the Pai community.
Usman stated that he was notified at 6:12 a.m. on Monday and that the body had been interred.
“However, as we speak, no contact has been established with the man’s kidnappers,” he stated.
DSP Adeh Josephine, the FCT police command’s spokesperson, did not respond to a text message regarding the most recent kidnapping.
