Adamu Aliyu, head of the Miyyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), was killed by bandits in Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja.

Adamu Aliyu, along with four others, was reportedly slain near Daku village in Dobi ward on Thursday.

Three people were kidnapped, according to MACBAN Secretary Mohammed Usman, who verified the event to our correspondent on Sunday.

MACBAN chairman and others were returning from Izom market in Niger state in a Dyna truck when the bandits suddenly appeared from the woods and began fire on the truck.

The criminals smashed the glass of the truck carrying the late MACBAN and some passengers, he said.

It was barely one kilometre near Daku village when the bandits suddenly appeared from the woods and started fire on the vehicle, killing the MACBAN chairman and four others.

He identified the dead as Saleh, Aliyu, Muhammadu, and Saidu, burying them according to Islamic customs.

Before the deceased’s remains were interred, a combined security agents commanded by the Gwagwalada police area commander were at Daku village.

The Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, acknowledged the occurrence over the phone but declined to comment more, citing a meeting and promising to call back later.
DSP Adeh Josephine, the FCT police spokesman, did not return calls or texts.
