A series of explosions rocked the ministry of state security in the capital of Moldova’s breakaway province of Transdniestria, according to the TSV television station.
The windows and doors of the building in Tiraspol were blasted out, according to the station. Firefighters were seen on the site.
The building was fired on by unknown gunmen with grenade launchers, according to officials from the breakaway region’s interior ministry, according to TSV. It displayed a photo of a grenade launcher that had been abandoned at the site.
There were no casualties reported.
Moldova’s government expressed worry over the event, which it claimed was intended to incite tensions in a territory over which it had no authority.
