Clement Asuk, a resident of Cross River State’s Akamkpa Local Government Area, was apprehended with 122 Anti-Aircraft ammo and 222 7.62mm live ammunition at a vehicle park in Maiduguri on his route to Benue State.
The suspect was paraded among others at police headquarters in Maiduguri on Friday by Borno State Commissioner of Police, CP Abdu Umar, who was represented by the Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Sani Kamilu Muhammad.
According to Muhammad, preliminary inquiry revealed that the suspect was transporting ammunition from one site to another.
“On March 30, 2022 at 07:22 hours, a credible Intelligence and Surveillance team of the command arrested one Clement Asuk of Akamkpe LGA of Cross Rivers State at Kano Motor Park with the following exhibit: 126 Anti Air Craft Ammunitions, 222 7.62mm Life Ammunition, 517 7.62mm By 51 Life Ammunition, 7.62mm By 39 Life Ammunition, 2 Empty Magazines of Ak47, 4 Rpg Prepare Lent
Other exhibits include the Nigeria Navy’s Application Form and the Nigerian Navy’s Application Form. 3 Tooth Pieces, 2 Small Carton of Fish, 1 Anti-Aircraft Ammunition Belt, 3 Pg – 7pm Preparelent, One Wrist Watch, 5 Rings, 3 Cowries, One Infinix Phone, One Charger, the sum of 15,250 Nigerian Naira, One Note of 10000 Korean Naira Thread, One Action Better, One Trouser, One Shirt, One Towel, One Boxer, Two Akapaka Battries, One Selma (Mei Zaaki), Three Gold Circles, Two Keys, One Toothbrush, One Meinnah 120 Drugs and Cham, and Two Vaselin Blueseal.”
He stated that the case is being investigated in order to uncover their past misdeeds, and that the information will be made public afterward.
