According to a port source, a superyacht belonging to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich docked in the Turkish tourist town of Marmaris on Tuesday, a day after another of his boats docked in neighbouring Bodrum, also in the county’s southwest.

According to Marine Traffic statistics, the Eclipse, which is one of the world’s largest at 162.5 metres (533 feet) long and sails under the Bermuda flag, landed in Marmaris after travelling southeast of the Greek islands of Crete and Rhodes.

The superyacht Solaris stayed anchored in Bodrum, some 80 kilometres (50 miles) away, having avoided European Union countries that had sanctioned the oligarch over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to the data.

There was no evidence that Abramovich was on board either ship. He was one of many affluent Russians put to a European Union blacklist last week, and EU nations have taken steps to confiscate their boats and other luxury assets in recent days.

The Eclipse has two helipads, nine decks, a swimming pool, and built-in missile defences, according to reports.

President Vladimir Putin and his supporters are being isolated by world nations over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, which the Kremlin refers to as a “special military operation.”

Abramovich took his own plane from Istanbul to Moscow last week. It was the second journey in three days by a plane linked to Abramovich between the Turkish city and the Russian capital, according to flight monitoring data.

Abramovich’s spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.

Solaris, a 140-meter (460-foot) yacht that also sails under the Bermuda flag, moored in Bodrum on Monday afternoon, little over a week after leaving Tivat, Montenegro’s Adriatic vacation town, on March 13.

The Eclipse and Solaris were both constructed at German shipyards. According to claims in luxury goods periodicals SuperYachtFan, SuperYacht, and Forbes, they are among a line of boats owned by Abramovich.

Several entities have been announced as bids for Abramovich’s English soccer club Chelsea, who was also sanctioned by the British government following Russia’s invasion.
