Aliyu Muhammed Lawal, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was killed by a stray gunshot during a shootout between security personnel and Bandits along the Kaduna-Abuja road.
Friday, May 13, at approximately 8 p.m., the bandits were reportedly confronted by security personnel while attempting to cross the highway in Kasarami Village.
According to Daily Trust, the deceased, who was serving in Abuja, was struck in the head while riding a commercial vehicle en route to Kaduna.
About seven bandits were killed during the firefight, according to a top police officer in the state who did not wish to be identified because he was not authorised to talk.
“The victim was struck by a stray bullet as a result of an intense exchange of gunfire between security forces and bandits attempting to cross the main road in Kasarami hamlet, which is a route they utilise. “However, security personnel, including soldiers, at Rijana engaged them, killed around seven of them, and recovered their motorcycles,” he claimed.
He reported that the young man was transported to Saint Gerald Hospital that night, but physicians pronounced him dead.
The deceased was buried in accordance with Islamic customs.
