Twenty members of the Cross River State House of Assembly who defected to the All Progressives Congress have been fired by a Federal High Court in Abuja (APC).
The parliamentarians joined Governor Ben Ayade in abandoning the PDP, claiming that he joined the ruling party to help President Muhammadu Buhari create a better Nigeria.
Justice Taiwo Taiwo, in a petition filed by the PDP, ordered them to forfeit their seats because they had abandoned the party that had brought them to power.
The news comes only weeks after the court fired Ebonyi Governor David Umahi, his deputy, and a number of MPs for desertion.
