The Nigerian Air Force has postponed its 2022 celebration that was scheduled to take place in Kano.
Originally slated for Thursday, the event has been changed to Saturday.
A senior officer of the force cited the explosion in Kano as the reason for the postponement, despite the fact that the spokesman of the NAF, Edward Gabkwet, who announced the postponement in a brief statement made in Abuja, did not provide a reason for the delay.
The official stated, “Due to the recent explosion in Sabon Gari, Kano, the site of our 2022 celebration, we must refortify and bolster the security of the area before to the start of the programme in order to avoid unnecessary situations.”
Shauntv News reported that at least three Kano people were murdered and several are still trapped in the explosion that shook the city.
However, in announcing the postponement, Air Commodore Gabkwet stated that it was “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
He stated, “The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Day 2022 Celebration that was originally slated to occur from 19-21 May 2022 at NAF Base, Kano will now occur on 21-23 May 2022 at the same location.
This was the result of unforeseen events. The NAF apologises to all of its invited guests for any issues the date change may have caused.
