“Today, April 13, the suspected kidnappers ran out of luck while attempting to abduct people from an 18-seater bus they apprehended traveling from Lagos to the east,” the PPRO claimed.
“The team of operatives engaged the suspected kidnappers in a gun duel, the superior fire power of the team of police operatives injured six (6) of them and were subsequently arrested, taken to the hospital but confirmed dead by the medical practitioner on duty, while others fled in various directions with varying degrees of bullet injuries, one pump action was recovered from the scene.”
“In the meanwhile, all people onboard were retrieved unharmed, profiled, and asked to resume their travel.” “A bush search is already underway to apprehend other fleeing gang members,” he added.
While commending the quick response of the team of Operatives, the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, used the medium to assure the general public of the Command’s readiness under his watch to take the fight against criminal elements to their doorsteps, allowing law-abiding citizens to sleep with their two eyes closed.
As a result, the CP advises criminal elements in the state and their cohort to repent or face arrest.
