Residents of the Danmani community of Rigasa in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area were terrified after an explosion on Friday night.
According to residents, the incident occurred outside a P.O.S operator shop near Abubakar Sadiq Mosque.
A suspicious device was discovered near a motorcycle belonging to a POS operator in the neighborhood.
According to a community Vigilante who requested anonymity, the explosion injured the POS operator, who was later brought to the hospital.
“Because his legs and finger nails were significantly injured, the man was sent to the hospital for treatment.” He stated, “The case has been submitted to the police.”
Three persons were injured in the event, according to another resident who only went by the name Shehu.
He claims that an anti-bomb squad arrived on the scene and exploded another explosive.
“Of the three injured people, the P.OS operator is unconscious and is being treated at 44 Hospital, while the other two have minor injuries,” he said.
The incident has elicited no response from the state government or the State Police. ASP Jalige Mohammed, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, did not return calls.
According to the Daily Trust, the explosion occurred just weeks after the state administration, through the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, issued a warning to citizens about terrorists’ plans to plant IEDs at schools, markets, and places of worship.
