Former aviation minister under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Femi Fani Kayode, has ridiculed All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and party leader Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his outburst in Ogun State on Thursday.
Posting a picture of the former Lagos State governor on his verified Facebook page, Kayode said that only God has control over what a person might become, and that bragging about “creating” another person is an insult to God.
He wrote, “God is God alone. He alone grants authority. He alone deserves the honour for who we are today and what we will become tomorrow. When a mere mortal declares, “I created you,” it is an insult to God, a stench to His nose, and a threat to His sovereignty. Be mindful of your words, lest He chose to humble you.”
Tinubu had boasted to APC delegates in Abeokuta on Thursday that he made Dapo Abiodun governor of Ogun State in 2019.
Tinubu, who was evidently displeased with Abiodun’s public support of vice president Yemi Osinbajo’s presidential ambitions, stated that Abiodun could not have become governor without him.
He stated, “I have been helping them for more than 25 years. Dapo, the individual seated behind me, can he claim to be the Governor without me? I was the one who gave him the party’s flag at the MKO Abiola stadium, where we were all present. He had been threatened, and the other party members had refused to give him the banner. He is aware that he cannot become governor without God’s and my help. “If he wants to meet God in the appropriate spot, he must realise that he could not have become governor without God’s and my help.”
