Two members of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and three others were killed in separate incidents in Benue State by suspected Fulani herders.

On Friday, April 29, while on duty in a waterside neighbourhood in the Wadata axis of Makurdi Local Government Area, the security officers were killed alongside the commander of the state livestock guards, while the villagers were hacked to death in the state’s Logo LGA.

According to a local interviewed by Daily Trust, NSCDC officers came upon several armed intruders who opened fire on them.

According to a community elder, the other two victims were assaulted Thursday evening in Tse Tume in Logo’s Turan council district while working on their farm.

Terkende Injarwua and Mfaiga Ukor were identified by the village leader, who added that their bodies had been found and buried on Friday.
