Two worshippers have been kidnapped after gunmen infiltrated the Celestial Church Christ, SBJ Oshofa in Wasimi, Ewekoro Local Government Area, Ogun State.

Assistant Shepherd of the parish Oluwaseun Ajose and Sunday school instructor Dagunro Ayobami are the victims.

Four thugs, according to our correspondent, entered the church around 11 p.m. on Monday and abducted two worshippers.

A source told our correspondent that the church’s location in a remote area allowed criminals to work unimpeded.

It has been learned that a police and vigilante team has been patrolling the local forest in search of the abducted individuals.
Tuesday, Oluwatomisin Ehuwaojomo, the Shepherd of the parish, verified the occurrence.

He also disclosed that the kidnappers have sought N50 million ransom from the church.

Ehuwaojomo stated, “When my assistant phoned me over two hours after their departure, the kidnappers initially refused to speak with me. However, on his third effort, they spoke with me and demanded N50 million in ransom.

“I informed them that, as a servant of God, I do not get compensation. I have spoken with the police commissioner, and they are working on it.”

Abimbola Oyeyemi, a spokesperson for the State Police, stated that she has not been briefed on the incident.
Nonetheless, he pledged to react to our correspondent.
