In Ondo State, gunmen suspected of being kidnappers have seized an Anglican clergyman and his son.
On Saturday, May 21, the priest and his son were kidnapped along the Ifon/Okeluse route in the Ose Local Government Area of the state.
It was determined that the shooters halted the victims’ vehicle, dragged them from their vehicle, and then whisked them into the bush while abandoning the vehicle.
According to a family source, the kidnappers called the victim’s family and demanded N10 million in ransom.
However, according to the source, the family was able to raise N1 million, but the kidnappers rejected it.
The source explained, “Venerable Olu Obanla and his son were kidnapped yesterday (Saturday) while travelling to Okeluse in Ondo State.”
“The kidnappers phoned the family and demanded N10 million in ransom, but the family had already raised N1 million, which the kidnappers rejected.”
The State Police Command’s spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the event and stated that investigators were working to rescue the victims.
