Chris Oghojafor, a final-year student at Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has been kidnapped by gunmen.

The student of Industrial Chemistry is the son of Barr. John Oghojafor, a prominent legislative adviser to the Senate Deputy President.

On Friday night, April 22, the victim was abducted in the university village of Abraka, Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta state.

According to reports, the kidnappers phoned the victim’s mother and demanded a 50 million naira ransom for his release.

The victim’s father corroborated the story at Delta State University’s campus 3 in Abraka.

The family had negotiated the N50 million ransom requested down to N3 million, according to the legal practitioner turned journalist.

“On Friday night, they took my son. They summoned my wife and demanded N50 million. “They then agreed to three (N3million) naira,” he said.

Mr. Oghojafor pleaded with the kidnappers to release his son unharmed, claiming he was only a student planning his life and future to be a better member of society.
