Gunmen stormed the Ebonyi Head Office of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Tuesday, killing four people, but security forces were able to resist the onslaught (NDLEA).
Gunmen Killed Four at the Ebonyi NDLEA Ntezi in the state’s shelu Local Government Area at approximately 2 p.m.
The assailants infiltrated the command’s headquarters through the back perimeter fence, according to reports.
Officials from the Agency, as well as troops and police operatives, rapidly went to the area to give assistance and repulsed the invading force.
Loveth Odah, a police spokeswoman in Abakaliki, verified the event to our reporters.
She said that two of the shooters were killed by security forces, but that the other two were injured and managed to flee.
One of the agency’s officers, as well as a patient who was being treated at the facility, were both slain, she added.
It’s still a mystery as to how many escaped gunmen are still out there, she added.

More than 140 rounds of K2 ammo, 36 rounds of GPMG live ammunition, 30 rounds of Ak 47 ammunition, a 4Runner SUV, motorbikes, military/police clothing and jewellery were also found, according to the official.
