A female SS3 student at Saint Monica’s Girls’ Secondary School in Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State, was murdered by gunmen.

Our correspondent learned from family sources that the victim, Charity Eze, was gunned down at her residence at No. 38, Idikwu Road, Otukpo, around 10 p.m. on Friday.

Two gunmen who had scaled the fence reportedly shot the student multiple times in the head as she went outside to retrieve clothes that had been strung up on a rope in the compound.

A family member who wished to remain anonymous stated, “The younger sister who witnessed the incident reported that the gunmen fired multiple shots at her sister before telling her, “We have come for your father, and this is our message (pointing to her sister’s corpse)”

According to the source, the victim was currently writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Catherine Anene, the state’s police spokesperson, responded that she was out of the office and unable to comment at the time of this report.
