On Monday night in Miango village, Bassa council area of Plateau State, gunmen alleged to be Herder militants ambushed the vehicle of the member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency, Musa Agah.
Two additional people, both community members, who were riding a motorbike on the road at the time were apparently slain by the criminals.
The event was verified to media in Jos by the lawmaker’s personal aide, who was also in the convoy. He stated that while Mr Musa Agah, his wife, and two children survived the attack, the culprits smashed his car with gunshot bullets.
The lawmaker was sworn in as member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal district, barely two months after winning the State’s bye election on February 26th.
He was attacked while returning from a thank-you visit in one of his constituency’s communities.
This incident comes only a week after gunmen suspected of being bandits raided certain communities in the Kanam and Wase council districts of the state, killing over 170 residents, predominantly farmers.
