Following the resignation of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Dr. Batos Nwadike, there is unrest in the Imo Government House.

Additionally, Nwadike is seeking N77.2 million, which he claims he spent while in office.

Nwadike is an influential Uzododimma administration official.

However, in a letter dated June 22 to Uzodimma, he explained that he was obliged to quit since his office had become useless and was no longer supported.

During his 28 months in office, he reportedly spent N77,2 million on employee pay and the furnishing of the residence provided to him.

He said, “It is with a mix of nostalgia, pride, and regret that I tell you of my resignation as your Special Adviser on Political Matters.”

He stated that despite his commitment to the administration, he was excluded from the scheme of things, adding, “I was continually kept in the dark and refused access to power in a government and vision I played a leading role in establishing from 2001 to 2020.”

Declan Emelumba, commissioner for information and strategy, stated that the state government had received Batos Nwadike’s resignation letter as special adviser to the governor on political affairs.

He told our correspondent, “His Excellency, Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, has accepted his resignation.

He remarked, “He thanks him for his services and wishes him well in his future undertakings.”
