On Saturday, a seminarian fell and died while performing the Easter Passion Play at the Claratian Institute of Philosophy at the Claratian University of Nigeria (CUN) Nekede in Owerri.
The Easter Passion Play depicts Jesus Christ’s suffering and crucifixion.
Suel Ambrose, a 25-year-old first-year Philosophy student, was confirmed as the dead.
According to some kids who talked to reporters at the school, the deceased, who was from Benue State, was playing the part of St Peter when he abruptly fell.
According to one of the pupils, who identified himself as Mavis, the episode confused the whole school community.
Mavis stated that the dead collapsed on the floor and began to bleed.
He went on to say that after first assistance failed to resuscitate him, he was brought to the Federal Medical Center in Owerri, where he died.
The event resulted in the suspension of all Easter-related activities at the school.
Fr Chukwuemeka Iheme, the university’s priest in charge of student formation, acknowledged the occurrence but stated that he could “only talk further when licenced to do so.”
According to a local named Charles, this is the second time a student has died under identical circumstances.
He stated that a pupil had died in the past while participating in a jugging practise.
