In the southern portion of the state, the Kaduna State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the Jema’a and Kaura local government areas.
This was revealed in a statement by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs.
After a breach of law and order in the region, he added, security services advised him to do so.
The step, according to the statement, will aid security authorities in stabilising the situation in the areas, saving lives and property, and allowing law and order to be restored.
Security services, according to Aruwan, have complete authority to implement the curfew.
“The administration calls to all people of the Jema’a and Kaura local government districts to work with security services to restore peace and maintain law and order.”
He stated, “The government condemns the violence and any acts of lawlessness that have happened in the area.”
