The Kaduna State Government has stated that it is expecting operational reports from security services regarding bandits who were purportedly neutralised and apprehended in the Kakura hamlet of the state’s Chikun Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Sunday, April 10, Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said this in response to a video circulating on social media platforms allegedly showing security forces parading bandits after repelling an attack on the community the night before.
“The Kaduna State Government has received inquiries from the media and residents over a video circulating on social media platforms purporting to show security officers parading neutralised and detained bandits at a place around Chikun LGA,” the Commissioner remarked.
“It is important to note that the Kaduna State Government has not received any response from security services regarding any such activities at this time.” As a result, no information on the legitimacy of viral video snippets can be supplied at this time.
“The Kaduna State Government is awaiting information from security services on activities being carried out in various areas of interest,” the statement said. Updates will be released to the media and citizenry as soon as exact operational input is obtained.”
