Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), has married President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Nana Hadiza.
A source verified to TheCable that the wedding took place on Friday at the villa during a private Nikkai ceremony.
Nana Hadiza, 41 years old, is the third daughter of Buhari and his first wife, Safinatu.
Before their divorce, Hadiza was married to Abdulrahman Mamman Kurfi, with whom she had six children.
With this marriage, Hadiza becomes the minister’s third wife, following Aisha and Fatima.
Malami’s spokeswoman, Umar Gwandu, did not react to an inquiry regarding the wedding.
After President Buhari won the 2015 election, Malami was appointed as AGF and minister of justice; he was reappointed on August 21, 2019.
The minister announced his desire to run for governor of Kebbi in the 2023 elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on April 28 and submitted his N50 million nomination form on May 11.
In accordance with section 84 of the Electoral Act of 2022, the president asked ministers interested in running for office to quit their jobs. In response, Malami declared his decision to withdraw from the election.
