Sheikh Nuru Khalid has a new mosque after his appointment as Chief Imam of National Assembly Mosque Zone E, Apo Legislators’ Quarters, Gudu District, Abuja, was terminated for reportedly preaching “anti-Buhari and anti-government” sermons.

The Sheik had previously chastised the administration for failing to control the country’s rising insecurity and deaths, according to LIB. He was fired after being suspended for reportedly criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari over the incident on an Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday night. READ MORE

Khalid has been re-appointed by the Management Committee of a new Jum’mat Mosque being built behind the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters in Abuja.

With effect from Friday, April 8, he will be the pastor of the parish.

Khalid viewed the mosque’s management committee’s decision to terminate his appointment as a necessary price he had to pay for connecting with the suffering masses and speaking truth to power.

He stated,

“By the Grace of Almighty Allah, I will be leading my new congregation this Friday, because as clerics we need a platform to operate.

“There’s a Jum’mat mosque we built behind the CBN Quarters, in Abuja; I will now be leading the congregation there.”
