Oba Moses Oyediran, the Ogunsua of Modakeke and a famous traditional ruler in Osun State, has died.

The late traditional ruler, who descended from the Ajombadi Ruling House of Modakeke, was elevated to the position of Oba in 2018.

The indigenes of Modakeke said the late monarch’s reign was peaceful and that he was committed to the town’s growth and development.

They recalled the monarch’s involvement in securing the axis’s peaceful cohabitation with the neighbouring towns.

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has expressed condolences to the people of Modakeke following the death of their traditional ruler.

Oba Oyediran was hailed as a God-fearing royal father who was an embodiment of wisdom and fairness in a statement signed on behalf of the state government on Friday by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode.

“The Government of Osun State hereby expresses its condolences to the Ajombadi Ruling House, the people of Modakeke, the Council of Traditional Rulers, and the entire state on the death of the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Moses Oladejo Oyediran, Ajombadi III.”

“During his little more than three years on the stool of Ogunsua, he will be remembered for his progressive ideas, serene demeanour, and affection for the people of Modakeke.”

“Though his reign was brief, the late Ogunsua left his mark and did his best for his people.” He had high hopes for Modakeke’s future, and he was lucky to observe some of the government’s initiatives to improve the town’s socioeconomic and physical status, including the reconstruction of Famia road.

“When his community’s tranquilly was threatened last year, he stepped up and fought relentlessly with the government to restore peace in Modakeke.”
