Gunmen used Improvised Explosives Devices, IEDs, and petrol bombs to bomb the house of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Worldwide, Professor George Obiozor, in Awo- Omamma in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.

An eyewitness from the Awo-Omamma neighbourhood told Shauntv that the unknown gunmen drove into the complex about 06:15 a.m. and shot indiscriminately for nearly 15 minutes before setting fire to the house.

“They used explosives and petrol litres to set fire to the building,” a resident said. When we entered the building, certain parts of it were still blazing, and the properties had been reduced to ashes.

“The structures’ roofs were blown off and scattered throughout the compound.” Those who live in the compound are now afraid that the mysterious gunmen would return to wreak additional damage.”

“The most distressing aspect of It was that these hoodlums set fire to Obiozor’s brother’s residences,” he added. It wasn’t as much as that of Obiozor House.”

When Shauntv contacted the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Micheal Abattam, he verified that “an attack on Obiozor’s house occurred early this morning.” “Officially, no report of life lost,” he added.

Unknown gunmen set fire to parts of Obiozor’s house in the early hours of Saturday.
