Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo territory in Osun State, is set to marry Firdauz Abdullahi, a Kano princess.

The wedding is scheduled for March 19, 2022, at Madakin Kano’s house in Yola Quarters, Kano State.

The Emir of Kano, HRH Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, will host a reception exclusively for the ladies at his palace.

In 2019, the monarch divorced Chanel Chin, his Canadian-born wife, due to personal irreconcilable reasons.

In an interview with the BBC, Oluwo confirmed his planned wedding, indicating that the date would be announced soon.

On Tuesday, March 8, he announced the wedding date in a message on his official Facebook page.

The bride-to-be was described as a “matrimonial material and morally upright princess” in the announcement.

“History is made when royalty meets and marries royalty. A wonderful wife, marriage material, and a morally upright princess who rose to the position of empress, “The statement is as follows:

“The honor does not belong only to me. It belongs to all of us who believe in our own path, a pure monarchy that submits only to God, The Creator. Everything we do is in the name of God.”
