The Nigeria Police Force designated 12 individuals sought in connection with alleged recent deaths in Isu-Aniocha, Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Friday.

According to the police, the sought criminals also committed conspiracy, armed robbery, terrorism, kidnapping, cultism, unauthorised possession of guns, house breaking, burglary, intentional damage, and conduct likely to cause a disturbance of the public peace.

CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force’s spokesman, revealed in a statement that the police had previously obtained a court order declaring the individuals wanted.

He stated that the suspects, who range in age from 25 to 55, are all from Isu-Aniocha, Awka North LGA, Anambra State.

Adejobi identified them as Edward Okoye (aka Stone), Donatus Okeke, Onyemazi Ngini, Onyebuchi Nwekeizu Okoye, Nonso Eboh, Chukwuka Onyibor, Chukwujekwu Anaekeokwu, Chuka Ilodigwe, Chinedu Nwoye Okoye, Nonso Awusionwu Obinna,

The statement continued, “Edward Okoye (aka Stone), in collaboration with others, shot two men dead – one Ifeanyi Anazoba (aka Ichafu) and one Chukwuebuka Amodo (aka Mutum) at a burial function in Umuzuocha Town Hall, Awka South of Anambra State on 19th January, 2019, beheaded them and burnt their bodies beyond recognition; kidnapped two others, and vandalised

“The suspects attacked and brutalised some mobile police officers who had been dispatched to restore order to the community.”

“As a result, the Nigeria Police Force asks all well-meaning members of the general public to provide relevant information to the police in order to enable their arrest and guarantee they are brought to justice.”

“It also ensures that justice will not only be done in the situation, but will be regarded as having been done by all stakeholders in the matter, since the police would leave no stone unturned in unravelling the ugly and criminal incident.”
