The killings in Anambra State resumed over the weekend, with at least seven victims of the most recent heinous incident in the state.
On Saturday, a politician in the state, Okechukwu Okoye, was beheaded, and by Sunday, more victims had been buried alive.
The victims were slain at various locations throughout the state.
Four siblings and their mother were among those fatally shot at Isulo, Orumba North Local Government Area, State.
Two were slain in the local government district of Abatete, Idemili North, while one was killed in Nanka Orumba North.
Sources indicate that the gunmen infiltrated the surroundings, opened fire on the victims, and then fled.
Ikenga Tochukwu, the State Police Public Relations Officer, stated that he was unable to corroborate the occurrence because the circumstances were hazy.
He stated that the command would discuss the instances to gain a thorough understanding of what transpired.
A police source, however, confirmed the Isulo event.
Meanwhile, the incessant killings in Anambra have increased tensions.
