Seven individuals, including the spouse of a military officer, have been kidnapped in the Keke A and Keke B neighbourhoods of New Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

According to locals, the attack began about 11 p.m. on Tuesday and continued for one hour.

A Keke A local who requested anonymity stated that at least three people were kidnapped in the region.

According to the source, the criminals targeted a large home in the vicinity.

“The robbers arrived around 11 p.m. I believe their primary objective was a large home at Keke A. The residence belongs to a military officer, but the officer was not home at the time of the attack, so the kidnappers entered into the home and took the officer’s wife.”

“They also kidnapped a man who is the military officer’s direct neighbour; in fact, the man was taken along with his eight-year-old daughter, but the girl was released after her mother began screaming at the top of her lungs.

“I believe it was at this moment that the kidnappers began firing randomly to dissuade anyone from coming to their rescue. During this time, a man who was going home in his automobile ran into the kidnappers. He was the third one to be seized,” a source stated.

According to the informant, several others who were still outside, including store owners, ran to prevent being kidnapped.

“As of this morning, we observed a large number of shoes on the ground and became fearful that they belonged to the abducted individuals. “However, an individual who escaped the attack informed us that the shoes belong to those who fled,” the insider continued.

Nevertheless, a resident of Keke B verified to our journalist that a guy, his wife, and two house servants were also abducted.

He explained, “I had just returned home and was taking a bath when I heard gunfire. Later, I discovered that a guy, his wife, and two of their housemaids had been kidnapped in Keke B.

“I was in such terror. I just abruptly exited the restroom and turned off all the lights in my home. The gunfire was so near that it sounded as though the criminals were inside my compound.

DSP Muhammad Jalige, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Kaduna State Police Command, claimed he would get back to our correspondent, but he had not done so at the time this story was filed.
