According to the Lagos State Police, all those responsible for the lynching and burning of a sound engineer in Lekki, Lagos, have been apprehended.
David, a father of two, and two of his friends were besieged by commercial motorcyclists
In Lagos, a sound engineer was allegedly set ablaze by a bunch of commercial motorcycles.
The youth, named only as David, was lynched and burned to death.
David allegedly engaged in an altercation with a commercial biker over a N100 balance. This led to a confrontation between David and the rider.
Additional commercial bikers allegedly joined their colleague in beating David till he lost consciousness.
David, a sound engineer, was returning home from a club when the incident in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, occurred.
A Twitter video of the incident shows David lying on the floor with a burning tyre on his torso. His attackers then add fuel to the fire, increasing its intensity.
The buddies are in critical condition in the hospital. David didn’t make it.
According to reports, the incident began when David had a disagreement with a commercial biker over a N100 balance. Allegedly, additional motorcyclists joined in and lynched David.
In response to indignation over the murder, the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that all of the perpetrators had been apprehended.
He posted on Twitter: “I can confirm with absolute certainty that every culprit of this horrible crime has been apprehended. All of them will be prosecuted. Say no to jungle justice!”
