They also injured others in a Friday evening attack in Osumenyi, a community in the Nnewi South local government area that is home to billionaire businessman Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu.

Though an eyewitness says that he saw five corpses around the arena, another source stated that the number of casualties was higher.

The incident occurred at a joint in Obofia village, locally known as Uto Ndu, and one of the victims was the proprietor.

However, Anambra Police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu stated that the Command had not received any such report.

He did, however, state that the command was still in communication with those involved in the event.

However, one of the Command’s senior police officers, who requested anonymity, confirmed the incident, noting that it occurred around 8.30 p.m. on Friday.

Additionally, the source stated that security personnel had been dispatched to the location and its vicinity.

“The gunmen invaded the establishment and opened fire on clients who were drinking and having a good time, killing many individuals in the process, including the restaurant’s owner, named as t Nd,” a source added.

Gunmen have been attacking beer parlours and local government headquarters in Anambra State over the last month.
