The terrorists who assaulted a military installation in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State, incurred significant casualties, the federal government announced Wednesday.
Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, revealed this following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The incident on Tuesday killed 11 troops and wounded numerous more.
Contrary to popular belief, the administration was not overwhelmed by insecurity across the country, said Mohammed.
By putting terrorists bandits operations on the front page of every newspaper, he blamed the media.
The soft underbelly will keep them relevant and enable them to attract more money and support from their sponsors.
In the last three, four, five days, the military has decisively defeated terrorists and robbers in the Northeast and along the Kaduna-Niger axis.
In response to another query on the country’s worsening economic situation, the minister blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for building the groundwork for famine.
Despite the hurdles, he said the present administration was doing all possible to solve the issue.
