Hon. Moshood Salvador, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, stated on Sunday that the health of the party’s National Leader and Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Improved after Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, proclaimed presidential desire.

He believes Osinbajo’s candidacy against Tinubu is beneficial to the country’s political progress.

He talked with reporters on the sidelines of his annual Ramadan Lecture/Zakat, which was hosted at his Salvador towers in Surulere, Lagos.

According to him, the fact that Osinbajo is running against Tinubu is nothing resembling treason.

He stated that it would rather improve Nigeria’s democratic experience, particularly in Lagos State, where democracy is scarce.

According to the Daily Trust, Salvador, the head of the Conscience Movement, a bloc inside the APC, had voiced dissatisfaction with the outcome of the party’s congresses at the ward, local government, and state levels, where members of his group were reportedly marginalised.

“Vice-President and Asiwaju coming out to contest is a very excellent political development,” Salvador, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state before defecting to the APC, remarked.

“We don’t have much of a democracy in Lagos State.” It is a democratic challenge to all of the big wigs who are appearing. Even for Asiwaju, this is a tremendous development. His health improved so quickly that he now refers to himself as a youngster.

“You could see him in the stadium (yesterday) come out to tell precisely what he wants to accomplish for Nigeria, and you could see him talking to the people.” He was conversing with the Obas and Mr. President at the same time. Mr. President just has one vote. President Muhammadu Buhari’s vote does not outnumber mine, and my vote does not outnumber yours. As a result, you can see the emotion,” he explained.

Salvador further stated that he presided over the gathering when Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello recently launched his presidential candidacy since he was invited as a party leader, and that it had nothing to do with ethnicity.

He stated that any candidate is welcome to invite him as a symbol of honour and respect.
