At least 20 people were killed in a deadly traffic accident in Bauchi state’s Ganjuwa local government area today, April 19.
Confirming the event, Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander of the Federal Route Safety Corps (FRSC) Bauchi command, said the accident occurred in Huturu village along the Bauchi-Kano road and was caused by a speed violation.
According to the FRSC chief, 20 people were killed on the spot in the collision, which occurred at 11:30 a.m., while one of the drivers survived. He went on to say that the collision involved two cars, one of which was a minivan Sharon with the registration number 1. SHD 184 YU and the other was a Gold 3 Volkswagen with no registration number.
He stated that the deceased were 11 adults, five females, and four children.
