Gunmen shot and murdered two FRSC officers in Anambra, Nigeria, on Sunday.
Unnamed government authorities were reportedly conducting routine traffic rescue patrols at Umuezedibia Junction in the Aguata Local Government Area of the state of Ogun.
The incidence has been confirmed by police in Anambra.
One officer was retrieved alive and sent to the hospital with critical bullet wounds, according to DCP Aderemi Adeoye, the deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations.
Anambra has recently seen an increase in the number of attacks.
Attacks against Nnewi South Local Government Area’s administrative headquarters and three local police divisions under refurbishment took place on March 31 and April 1, respectively.
