Two policemen protecting a private transport company’s mechanic workshop in Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Enugu State, were murdered by gunmen.
The event occurred on Thursday, June 2 at approximately 11 a.m. at Mkpanpu Village, close to the Council’s headquarters.
Young men have fled the city out of fear of being pursued by security services, according to community sources who spoke to the Journalist.
“The criminals arrived at 11 a.m., shot them, and took their firearms,” a source told the publication.
“Initially, people believed the event occurred at the loading area of the transportation company, but local security personnel who visited the scene informed us that it occurred at the workplace in Mkpanpu Village and that the two police officers involved were an inspector and a sergeant. “I have no idea why the police administration would assign officers to a private workshop,” the person continued.
