Sheikh Nuhu Khalid, the founder of the Islamic Research and Da’wah Foundation, claims that his criticism of the government’s ineptitude is not new.

When he decried insecurity under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, the preacher was ousted as Chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Central Mosque in Abuja after he opposed the Buhari government.

This was said by the clergyman during an appearance on Trust TV’s Daily Politics.

“Nigerian masses should resort to just one phrase, which is – preserve our lives, and we will come out to vote; let us be murdered, and we will not come out to vote, since it is only elections that you people know,” the Sheik added in his sermon.

The Sheik, also known as “Digital Imam” on social media, said he was not granted a fair hearing when the mosque committee suspended him.

He also stated that only God has the power to enthrone or dethrone.

The mosque committee then relieved him of his responsibilities, claiming that he had shown no contrition following his suspension.

Sheikh Nuhu Khalid stated he had no remorse for his remarks when speaking on the show, which is still airing.
