The Nigerian Army has begun three nationwide exercises titled “Golden Dawn”, “Enduring Peace” and “Still Water”, all aimed at combatting criminality in the country.

According to Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director, Army Public Relations, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, would flag off all the exercises in Enugu State.

Exercises Golden Dawn, Enduring Peace, and Still Water were flagged off by the COAS.

Nwachukwu explained that the operations were aimed at effectively checking all forms of criminality during the holiday season and ensuring freedom of movement for people.

Upon spotting troops and equipment moving, Onyema urged residents not to panic.
